The Trail Talk Podcast
Take action
This podcast first existed from 2020-2022 with 27 episodes. It took an unexpected 4+ year hiatus because of a stroke I had in the summer of 2022. The recovery has been long.
But the wait is over! Starting next week October 14th, The Trail Talk Podcast IS BACK! The first show is LIVE NOW! This is the start of my comeback to this platform. And just in time!
Season 2 Episode 1
October 6, 2026
This episode is the formal kickoff for season 2 and has nothing to do with me snowmobiling. Just so you know. It has everything to do with me being a former TV Meteorologist and having the great opportunity to have almost 30 minutes with Matt DiNardo, Chief Meteorologist for WRIC in Richmond, VA. We go back to the 1990's and had some funny moments that we shared and also many other good and bad times we have had along the way from our 20's to our 50's today. It was just the best almost 30 minute conversation I have had with anyone in a long time.

Signal Score
What is Signal Score?
Signal Score ranks podcasts by meaningful discovery behavior, not by who is already biggest. It blends scout approvals, saves, shares, repeat engagement, and editorial review into one weighted score.
Ranking notes
- High-intent actions count more than passive traffic.
- Trusted scouts carry more weight than brand-new accounts.
- Recency can matter for discovery, but it is not treated as a proxy for quality.
- Per-user caps and distinct-actor rules limit gaming.
Signal Score is directional, not absolute. New shows can move quickly, established shows can cool off, and no score is paid placement.
