Can two plus two equal five? Dr. Gene A. Constant, Founding Chancellor of Global Sovereign University, says it can, when a young person earns a community college degree and learns a trade at the same time. In this episode, Gene shares his own story: leaving school after the eighth grade, earning his GED days after Navy boot camp, and passing a make-or-break remedial algebra class at Richland Community College on the way to an associate's degree and, eventually, a doctorate. Then he does the math: - Time: a degree and a trade earned in the same two years. - Money: Community college averaged about $4,150 a year in 2025-26, against about $11,950 at an in-state public university (College Board). - Skills that multiply: why a tradesperson with a degree becomes the foreman, the estimator, or the owner. - Compounding: why a four-year head start keeps paying for the rest of a life. He also explains the legal roads a teenager can take today, including dual enrollment and early college high schools, and why the old road can cost six years, whereas the new one takes two. The revised 2026 edition of Do the Math, 2+2=5 is available on Amazon (ASIN B0D78W7DF9): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D78W7DF9 Global Sovereign University is a tuition-free 501(c)(3) foundation, funded entirely by book sales. Signal Score

What is Signal Score?

Signal Score ranks podcasts by meaningful discovery behavior, not by who is already biggest. It blends scout approvals, saves, shares, repeat engagement, and editorial review into one weighted score.

Ranking notes

  • High-intent actions count more than passive traffic.
  • Trusted scouts carry more weight than brand-new accounts.
  • Recency can matter for discovery, but it is not treated as a proxy for quality.
  • Per-user caps and distinct-actor rules limit gaming.

Signal Score is directional, not absolute. New shows can move quickly, established shows can cool off, and no score is paid placement.
